This information is from the Kaurna Nation Cultural Heritage Association Inc (KNCHA), on behalf of the KNCHA Chair, Lynette Alice Crocker, Ngangki Burka, Senior Kaurna Woman, Kowiandilla Meyunna - Kua Nepotinna (Lone Crow) [kaurna.auspics.org.au]. The KNCHA is mounting a campaign to protect Kaurna Heritage against those "engineers" destroying Kaurna Heritage as a 'normal' part of the business as usual policy of state development in the like names of civilisation and progress, following the State Government's decision to proceed with the proposed route for the extension of the southern Adelaide metropolitan railway to Seaford. Attached is the Media Release of 23 April from KNCHA Chair, Lynette Crocker. The release responds to Minister Portolesi's April decision assenting to the Department of Transport's proposed route for extending the railway south of Noarlunga across the Onkaparinga River and Valley, in spite of Kaurna concerns about destruction of significant Kaurna sites, including in the Onkaparinga River (known as Ngangkiparri - Women's River - and estuary). Futher material for the KNCHA campaign to protect Kaurna Heritage: The Kaurna Nation Cultural Heritage Association is seeking financial assistance for its action under federal heritage legislation.
