* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ANTaR SA Supports Aboriginal Candidates in State Election SPECIAL COMMUNITY NOTICE regarding Potential Australian Nuclear Tests Victims Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement Inc. Community Meetings for interested community people, with legal team from ALRM and the English lawyers, from Hickman and Rose, who ALRM are working with on this issue (some brief information towards end of this notice). Please be invited to the following community meetings. Individual client sessions will be organized as required to follow these meetings. (Sorry for short notice. The English lawyers will be attending these meetings, along with ALRM team.) Port Augusta, Wednesday, 24 February, 2010, Ceduna, Thursday, 25 February, 2010, Coober Pedy, Friday, 26 February, 2010, Kalgoorlie, Please spread the word – In June 2009, the English Courts ruled that military personnel and their families affected by the Nuclear Tests conducted in Australia in the 1950s and 1960s were entitled to bring personal injuries actions against the United Kingdom Government. This litigation is currently ongoing. ALRM has legal advice that civilians in Australia and their families who were similarly affected by the Tests (including Aboriginal people) may be able to seek compensation from the UK Government. ALRM welcomes contact from people who may be interested in pursuing a claim for compensation against the UK Government.
