The following arrangements have been made by the Holdfast Bay Council organisers for the Kaurna involvement in the Proclamation Day Commemoration.
- Kaurna young man and educator Mr Jack Buckskin has accepted their invitation to speak at the Commemoration ceremony this year. It is understood he will be speaking on his achievements which resulted in him being awarded the South Australia Young Person of the Year award this year. He will also be reflecting, as an Indigenous man, on the past, while looking toward the future – their Proclamation Day theme.
- Kaurna Elders have invitations to attend the Proclamation Day Commemoration and will be seated in the VIP area, with their other invited guests which include the Governor, Premier, and the Minister for State/Local Government Relations.
- Other representatives from the Kaurna Heritage Board and Native Title Board will have sufficient seats reserved for them among seating for Kaurna people in the same location as in previous years.
- They are expecting extra people to attend this year, and will be providing a barbecue, cold collation, music and entertainment as part of a community celebration following the formal part of the commemoration.
